Hi All, We have the above form and our accountant doesn't know how to fill it in. The client is waiting to hear from us and we are in danger of losing the contract. Please could someone assist in filling it in? We are a small/tiny limited company. We will pay £50 via paypal or bank transfer.

If you're going to be dealing with American clients or assets involving US Witholding Tax on an ongoing basis, you probably need a different accountant.

Asked my accountant about this and he said you need a specialist. It’s not something sausage factory companies like taxassist can do.

One that deals with US tax. TaxAssist is geared up for basic bookkeeping for small UK-based companies transacting in sterling. Sorry not to be more helpful for your immediate requirement.

they can ask you what information they need to complete the Form but it is their responsibility to complete and issue to the paying agents and/or IRS.

Several of our clients receive these Forms where they have US investments and are paid interest/dividends subject to Withholding Tax

the form should be pretty straight forward to complete,
you need to call the IRS ( US version of hmrc) and get a TIN number if i remember correctly.

You do not need to submit the form to the IRS, you just need to complete the form and sign it and then send a copy to the US company you are working with who then hold it on file.

Done one for a client recently, have you read through the form it is pretty straight forward.

Just read through the form they are fairly straight forward to fill out I have to do them from time to time across all my various trading accounts otherwise I am unable to trade US stocks
