I am based in Buckinghamshire,
I am researching setting up a fried chicken/ Kebab Shop, Can anybody give me any advice on the topic as I have no previous experience, i.e.: the process, equipment needed, suppliers etc..... any advice would be greatly appreciated....

Regards
Del

It seems to me that in the local area (there are a fair few in a local high street) the ones that succeed are the ones that do good donner kebabs and chicken that tastes more like kfcs standard chicken than trying to make their own recipes. Most people want the bog standard deal with their fried chicken, not something new that doesn't taste right.

Hey Big Pete.... I'm afraid I can cook, or should I say I like to think that I can... :) I worked in catering for 10 years... after attending catering college back in "Ye Old Days".... I just didnt have any experience with fast foods....

For the sake of the health of the good people of Bucks, how about doing some proper cooking rather than kebabs or deep fried chicken :|

I agree with you, but there's not point setting up a place like that if the market wants cheap fried food - unless you reckon there are people that do want a nice place to go and have a healthy(ish) meal that are not being offered that by the local restaurants already there.

Plus if you enjoy cooking and could make that a success it would probably be much more satisfying on a personal level than fried chicken. What part of Bucks are you planning to set up in?

If your going to set up a chicken shop here are the costs approx
Shell Out £8,000 not including shop front or signage
Cookers, fryers, heaters all you need to start £18,000 available on ebay
Available from Dibs
Chicken pieces £0.28
Fries portion £0.06
Coke £0.24
Epos System £1200.00
Then the pakaging cost
You got yourself a chicken shop
