I need some decent storage shelving. No mega kg loads but I don't want it to bend in the wind etc.

600mm depth or a bit over, not this 300mm stuff.

I would like to install a couple or more runs at a right angle in a corner.

Seemingly so many choices but I bet most are crap. Looking for a balance between cost, strength and durability etc.

Get your local timber merchant to rip down some 8"x 4" 18mm ply for you. Then get a chippy in for the day with a plie of 2"x 2" prepared.

IKEA had some metal shelving in when I went the other weekend. they where only £9.00 a set too and very good! If you live near an IKEA that is good but if you don't their delivery is a little pricey!

Big Dug comes up time and time again but they use the weaker chipboard, not MDF. Not saying it is crap but over hyped perhaps. Good when deals are on, as with the Makro stuff. Unfortunately, none on now.

Failing that, go to the local wood yard and get a pallet of four-by-two and some ply or MDF and build the shelving yourself. That will be even cheaper than Big Dug's stuff.
