I am doing some research for my new hosting plan and I was wondering if anyone had experience of SSD VPS hosting yet? If so what is your thoughts?
I have emailed to a hosting provider in the UK and so far what i found out is SSD nodes each run 4x Intel 520 series SSD in RAID 10 and
single processor nodes (Intel Xeon E3-1230). What do you guys think about SSD hosting plans are they worth it?

The only benefit over a standard VPS with an SSD VPS is if you plan on running a site that is database driven or read/write intensive applications.

A RAID 10 SSD array and only an E3-1230? There's a disparity there, that CPU is underpowered for a VPS node. How much RAM does the hypervisor have?

With all of this in mind, the most important question is how many VMs do they put on each hypervisor? We run 4 x SATA disks in RAID10 with ample CPU/Memory and load hypervisors with a lower than average amount of VMs/VPSes. The end result is great, balanced performance.
