Giving up smoking

Keep going Jayne!

Good for you. When you waiver, just remember how bad you smelt when you smoked  (sorry but you did, even without meeting you I know you smelt...!)

My business partner smokes and I can't bear her breathing near me. YUK!

I think it would help smokers if they could get their sense of smell back for ten minutes while still a smoker. They'd be shocked...

Ashtrays!! The stink from ashtrays is sooo disgusting...

Oh I'd better go cos this is a big big bug bear of mine.

Before I go though, I can't wait for a worldwide ban on smoking. Why should I have to breathe in someone elses smoke when I walk past them? Why should my clothes smell because someone else wants to puff away on a cancer stick?

It should be illegal in houses where there are children too. What choice (and chance) does a two year old child have when both their parents are sitting in the living room puffing away all evening with the doors and windows shut? They should be taken to court for child cruelty. If parents want to smoke then fine, but do it away from all children.

 I really should go now...

Keep going Jayne, you can do it!

Hayles (I don't smoke)

How's it going? Day 5 now?

Dad says, 'once you've broken the habit it gets easier. You need to change your routine. When you have a craving, go out for a walk or something. When I stopped, my work brought in a policy where they'd give you free patches for a week and after that they'd check your blood to see if you'd been smoking. I used to smoke 20 but was suprised to find that I had more carbon monoxide in my blood than an old bloke who smoked over 100.'

Then again he has put on over a stone in weight !

Keep it up,

If you need an incentive, take a jog to your local shop and be amazed at how much further you can go already!

This raised my spirits severla times even if I did look like a nutter running to Asda.

Try cleaning big windows, just as much of a physical exercise and jogging to the shops. Vacuuming the stairs is another good one, you try it :D

You are not old enough for snogging lad

Plenty of time for that when you get older.

Lol Jayne, trust me, you can get a lot worse than snogging! One of my friends is boasting because she's gone alot further! Silly gurl...

20% of people lose their virginity when they're 14-16, so somehow snogging doesn't seem quite so bad! I never see my girlfriend anyway

Why don't you want to give up Claire? Surely the prospect of gaining weight and coughing all that smoke back up is a good enough reason?

Lol just read your posts ! Is that all you lot think of me?!!

Yeah, well done, Jayne. I take the more gentle approach of: if it's your body, do what you want. I'll never moan at anyone for not being a vegetarian, or drinking etc. However, I hate going into pubs because of the amount of smoke. Hurts my eyes, makes me cough and is generally unpleasant. That's the stage where you're not affecting just yourself, but others around you. I see it as the same as throwing the remainder of my drink on those around me afterwards.

So, back to the main point, well done ;)
