getting a ppc agreement

in the processing of creating a website designed to draw turnover via advertising and affiliate marketing.

The site would attract people looking to buy a new car and provide information on some cars. If I provide a link to a car manufacturers website (i.e. ford mondeo site link) how much could i seek to charge per click?

How would I actually go about setting up the agreement? I presume it would be better to demonstrate web traffic before looking to negotiate??

Yes, I'd imagine you'd have to send them traffic first and then look to make a deal.

(unless they have an existing affiliate scheme in place)

However, don't assume they'll do a deal with you unless they're already doing similar deals with other websites.

Not everyone is open to this sort of thing.

hmm, as i thought, thanks. cost per thou may work better to attract a company.

The problem is that i'm close to a large investment (for me) in my site and am trying to reduce risk where i can, but no matter what i do turnover forecasts are only forecasts and most things cant get rolling to their best potential until the website is up and running!!!! Still, wasnt expecting it to be easy.

If I am linking to a product that retails for 15k, could cost per click (for arguments sake) reflect this and be say 60p compared to other cheaper products where it may only be 2p?? My site is currently parked and a couple of clicks to insurance and loan providers seem to have generated about 1-3 euros per click.

You may find there are dealers who are distressed who may consider a deal - rather than the manufacturer. It is always easier to strike a deal with people rather than compenies - and the fact of there being a number of potential partners could help achieve a competition for prices.
