I don't usually go overboard on football, but I do love a game now and then...and then there's ENGLAND

How on earth do we manage to win a game without scoring a goal?

Over the years I've seen some poor excuses for England Internationals, but the game against Japan was seriously cr*p...is this the side we're taking to the World Cup...god help us....

I don't undertsnd Heskey over Bent, Upson over Dawson or SWP over Walcott or Johnson, three really strange decisions if you ask me Johsnon, Dawson and Bent have all had great seasons the other three not so much

Correct, anyone with half a footballing brain could see these players were only playing at around 70% so they didnt get injured, infact i'd say its pretty nailed on that the management team had advised them not to drive in, stretch for things etc.

As for people moaning about Walcott, i've seen him play in the flesh and can honestly say he hasnt advanced very much from the first time I saw him play against us for Southampton. Then he played down the middle and simply ran on to long balls over the top, did that very effectively. Since, seen him play wide right and once the balls at his feet and he has to think what to do with it, he goes to pot and usually just treads on the ball. Theres a reason he's only started 15 games for Arsenal this season

Cricket season it may be (i like cricket too, and formula one but that's another story) but its about to be the world cup, the biggest sporting event on the planet.

I would have liked to see England fly to South Africa a few days early and have a game with the first eleven, Still looking forward to the game on the twelfth.

Shame there aren't any good world cup songs this time around, will have to make do with three lions x 2 Vindaloo and World in Motion

of course not silly me FWIW the Summer cricket for England is a bit disappointing this summer, England should comfortably win both test series and only the one-dayers will be that interesting IMO

Well, its to be expected. They don't want to compromise the team ahead of the Ashes... and lets face it, if they can't beat the Aussies in Australia this time round then they never will :redface:

Wallcott is 21 and hasn't improved at all...all he's got is his pace...apart from that, he's naff!

people ridiculed an ex england manager (name escapes me) who stated in the Times or whatever that Wallcott didn't have the brain for top flight football...but he was right!

On The Sun and Daily Mail comments section people are saying its a bad idea to leave Wallcott out but i dont see it myself..he had two games to prove he could do what he was told and as Capello said 'he doesn't listen to instructions'...he just kept going down the middle and ended up dilly dallying.

SWP has a point to prove and i think he wants to show just how good he is at international level, he's an older more mature and more experienced player than wallcott and i rate him quite highly.

the problem again will be fitness levels....Gerrard and Ferdinand are not 100% fit for this world cup and i think they'll struggle..unfortunately that means we'll be losing two of our best players or atleast not having them fully there.

I honestly don't rate our chances at all. I mean, come on, it's England.
