Hi to everybody,

i see Flippa.com for buy and sell domains and online business, they write:
# 1 number one for sell and buy bla bla bla....

I've see on trustpilot a lot and a lot of very bad opinion, a lot of scam, who sell business do not receive never the money, this is very bad. One trustpilot user open a claim with Australian court.

Anyone had experience selling something? If yes, had all money in short time?

Thanks for every one Cheers.

PS: i have a start-up, i want try to sell, is a classified Ad's portal for a market niche, mobile friendly, dedicated VPS server in Uk provider, internal invoice system, internal email sender with all ready.
100% ready for work with a lot of traffic. At moment doesn't have this, need a marketing campaing.
The name finish with "24" , a lot of previous success niche website with this name style..
I think with a basic ad online campaign can be a very profitable business.

Cheers.

It's fine, there's scammers on there though the same that there is on Ebay.

You probably won't get much if it doesn't have any revenue though.

There is nothing wrong with Flippa. Like any market there are good buyers and poor buyers. There are good sellers and poor sellers.

For example there are sellers who create a site and before they have any traffic, and before they have proved the concept, they believe that it is a great site and want to sell it. Such wishful thinking sellers are likely to be rudely treated.

There's a service called escrow.com which can protect you when it comes to the actual sale. If you're concerned, you could find your buyer with flippa and then use escrow for the actual transaction.

However...

People want to buy a site that is already up and running and showing a profit. If they have got to do all the marketing themselves there is no real point in buying the site.

So you have a website to sell, it all works, it just needs traffic and marketing? :D
Well that's the hard part, so right now it doesn't really sound like you've got anything to sell.

Well do it then.

The platform is good, I used that for a few sales back in 2017, like ebay and other open channels there will be bad people around looking to abuse the good reputation of the site. So as always be careful online.

I have used Flippa.com to sell several businesses/websites and have had nothing but good experience. I haven't done any deals recently though so don't know whatever it has changed (for worse).

I did all the payments via Escrow.com

One thing that comes to my mind is that probably there are more scammers in cheap/small website deals who try to scam un-experienced sellers. Websites I sold were selling for solid 5 figures so maybe that kind of money does not attract scammers and time wasters there (as you need to put it in Escrow in first place).

Quick tip if you decide to sell your website on Flippa.com - it's all in the description! You really need to invest time in writing a very detailed description, have all the proof for traffic and income, connect Google Analytics etc. etc. You need to show that you're 100% genuine person and what you say is truth and that the website/sale is actually a very good deal. I believe that Flippa also now offers premium listings which get featured higher in search - something you can think about if you sell a premium website/business.

If i am going to buy a website i would not buy one that i will have to figure out how to drive traffic to it. 90% of the time i think getting traffic is one of the most difficult parts.
