Feedback on new business name

Hi,

We are currently in the process of setting a new business and are struggling to decide on a suitable name for the business.

The business will specialise in helping businesses recover outstanding payments from other businesses making use of late payment legislation. So basically a business to business debt collection agency.

We are looking for a one word name that works on its own and also when Debt Recovery is added.

Some names we are currently considering:

Advocate
Advocate Debt Recovery

Advocacy
Advocacy Debt Recovery

Recourse
Recourse Debt Recovery

Redress
Redress Debt Recovery

Any comments on the above or new suggestions would be most welcome.

Thank you

Advocate and Advocacy seem to say what you may be doing in helping another in retrieving a debt, but they are not English to me they sound American. Recourse says what it does on the tin, but it not a word that most people would recognise. Redress, yes, but does a serious business want to rhyme with dress?

I can understand your conundrum you need a word that suggests legality, restoration and trust, good luck!

Choosing a brand name for your business isn't easy task. But UNIQUENESS is the fact which is usually missed out while setting a brand-name for a business which is supposed to generate sales and quires through it's online presence as well.

For any business try to name it uniquely in terms of online presence as well so that if any user make little research about your "brand name" through search engines, the search engines will show dozens of search results on very first page singing about your business due to its uniqueness and it will really make a good impact in visitors mind and will enhance conversions chances as well.............

Keeping this fact in mind "Redress Debt Recovery" is good one

I would say the first is most suitable as well and rolls off the tongue easier than the rest. However, Techbat makes a good point about online presence, so there's that to consider. With a good digital marketing strategy it probably won't matter so much though as you'll be beating competitors in search.

I think your ideas will appeal more to people in your business rather than customers, and from the customer's POV might be seen as too upmarket for some.
Sadly all the obvious ones are gone, like 'B2B Debt Recovery', but you might think along lines like 'Working Debt Recovery' etc.
'Working' does the job and is less of a ten dollar word than 'Advocate'.

Don't use any of your keywords in the business name. People who need help and are searching for providers will be looking for compelling page titles and snippets not a company name.

So call yourself 'carnaby' or 'bluepeacock' or whatever. Your suggestion are the words you use not the words someone needing debt recovery would use.
