I have noticed that website is showing some wrong meta title.

http://www.google.co.uk/#hl=en&outp....,cf.osb&fp=f4d6def3eef04394&biw=1024&bih=677

If I leave the meta title blank, it is on some pages showing as

"something relevant to the description - Sell House Fast"

on some pages where I have the meta set
"KW1, KW2, KW3 - Sell House Fast"

The problem is I am only setting the title as "KW1, KW2, KW3" and have no clue why this "- Sell House Fast" is being shown on some random pages?

Let's assume the anchor on some backlinks to the homepage was SHF but I have never seen titles been amended? And also why would be amended on some pages where no linkbuilding has been done?

Do you have a link from somewhere where it explains this?

Thanks

No sorry, someone else might, but it's just something I've noticed happen for a while.

According to majestic a chunk of your homepage links are shf so it may be that G is associating that term with your domain. I've noticed it being added most to short titles in my experience.

One of the pro's might be able to explain it to you - try building more branded backlinks to your site to see if it changes to your site name?

If you do not leave and meta-data for a page then Google will pick up (what is concludes is) relevant text from that webpage to display in search results. For the best chance of ranking for the targeted keywords and increase website traffic it is imperative to have all of your title, description and keyword meta tags optimised for each page of your website.
