Hi guys,
Do any of you know a good email marketing company/ software that I can use to send news letters ? has to be very cheap or better still free.
 
Why does everybody want stuff for free?

Free emailing services usually have lots of bolt ons you don't need (like adverts) so bite the bullet and pay for a decent service. What is the point of the newsletter? If it is to generate new business then surely it's an invesment that needs proper funding.

aweber always seems to get good reviews and $19/month is pretty good value.

The answer to your question is free is good. It allows you to sample the product and gives you the desire to try more features as they suit your need.

you not really gonna find a decent service for free though, have a look at getresponse.com, affordable and you can integrate it to facebook and twitter too, all your followers can see your newsletter, well is good if you bother with twitter

That's a trial or a demo rather than a free service but I see your point.

Mail Chimp is free for up to 500 subscribers and 3000 emails per a month, signed up but not used it yet.

The reason I am interested in a FREE account is that it is a good opportunity to organise my email database, ie bounce backs unsubscribes etc.

watch out with free. you get what you pay for.

email system - try pure360.com. I've been using them for sometime now across various business and for various clients. They are not free.

You could try group-mail.com - they have a basic free product as well as some quite cheap products with more features and options. However, you'd need to talk to your ISP if you were to send emails in large quantities and frequently. You don't want to get blacklisted!

newsletter - newsweaver.co.uk - my question would be if you have enough compelling content to generate newsletters on regular basis. If you try to 'sell' in newsletters you'll turn a lot of people off. not trying to teach your grandmother to suck eggs, but a newsletter is about 'what's in it for me (the customer) and not about yourself (the business).

Irrespective of the name, go with a hosted solution. Buying email software and trying to do it all in-house will cause you far more problems than it will ever allegedly solve.

There's plenty ESPs out there and it's worth taking the time having a good look round. It's difficult recommending one above anyone else as they all have their own detail plus points, but don't get too distracted with flashy features; you need to get settled in with the basics first. Just take it step by step and you'll be on your way in no time. :)

i used aweber at first and it was very good and got a very good response
but they make you get a positive opt in from their intro mail before you can mail to any contact (they mail your contact and get them to confirm they want in, and abviously rahter too few do)

then we used icontact.com and they have less toys and stuff but very easy to use and effiective too

both seemed good value to me and both give you a free trial

I use Jvlistpro.com its very simple to use and cheap $19.95 - Stores 10,000 Leads
And also is a reseller of Aweber.com, which is very good also.

I dont want to have to send a pre-email out before sending a proper email, thats spam for spams sake and would really annoy my opt in list users, any companies don't use that method.

we had a list made up only from people who had bought our shoes in previous 12 months and when fed into aweber they insist in mailing them to ask if they want to recieve mailings from us and we got only about 30% of the list confirming and being cleared for us to use which is of course pants.

bearing in mind our customers REALLY cant get our kind of stuff anywhere else (ie we are quite important to our customers) and we only got 30% this shows how tough it is to get the opt ins. we stopped using aweber because of this alone. the rest of aweber is excellent

Yep, so that rules Aweber out, also what about the image hosting issue, if my templates have images, who hosts the, me or the email company and finally what about sending emails as both html and plain text at the same time, I hear some can't do this, Dotmailer who I use now do but they are expensive, its like £400 a month for 80,000 emails so thats 1 email run a week and I'd like to do 2 email runs a week, it's all so confusing lol.

don't know about images
we usually avoid both images and html
we do very well with plain text which various gurus (ie drayton bird)
say is the way to go these days
