These guys seem to check out ok to me.

They seem to have some big advertisers behind them.

They seem to be running Government Publications (which are difficult to tender for, advertising or otherwise).

Having worked for a few publishing houses that operate through advertising rates alone, I am usually concerned - they seem ok to me from a quick Google search.

I would type the company name into a search engine and see for yourself from the links provided - you will then be able to visit the website etc (sure you already have done).

Com only is not a good offer though - I expect you are new a telesales then??

I and many others running businesses in the Wrexham area of North Wales have been mis sold advertising by this company recently, quite possibly by the rep you are seeking to replace . They are not interested discussing it and despite trading standards now getting involved they are threatening me with county court action, even though i have never refused to pay . The owner of this company is infamous for publishing his divorce settlement on line on a web site created by himself, to tell the world that he wasn't actually the tight fisted money grabbing bas***d that he had been described as. She did pretty well in court, £3.7 million + £15k per year per kid for their private education oh and a Merc and an Audi and all the jewellery.
He married a younger model a year later (£100,000 wedding) then moved in to a pile worth £2mill.
Commission only salary, surprise surprise!!

I've had dealings with the owner of Elletson in the past, with another project he was involved in - and found him to be a very approachable and friendly chap. As for his ways of doing business - i'm not sure how he works fully - i know he uses a lot of self-employed staff.

His company appears to be very successful - classy, yet quite small and understated on the outside - offices in Poulton le Fylde, and drives a Bentley - and he's very open to investing in new ventures.

I dealt with him in 2005 and 2006.

Probably a bit late in terms of posting this though?

After paying over £400 to advertise in a brochure via a local authority in July 2012 & having paid the balance by November 2012 to Elletson Publishing, I would have expected to be appearing in a lovely full colour booklet by Spring 2013.
That's certainly not what happened with this company!!
I would advise never ever deal with this company. They use high pressure selling to get you to sign up & you most definitely cannot get out of it! They made that very clear.
They consistently pass the buck as to who is responsible for the delays and take forever to get back to you when you have to ring for updates.
Small businesses & advertiser beware!

I'm a small Kitchen retailer who was approached by another company (Community Sport Ltd) who use Elletson Publishing for its adverts however, they are both registered to the same address in Lancashire. I paid a cheque deposit for the 1/2 page advert and sent off art work for a Spring distribution hoping now were in February to hear something from them regarding layout & distribution times.so far ive heard nothing , and all emails have bounced back . Plus my local Council (who Elletson Publishing & Community Sport said they supposedly work in conjunction with), have never heard of them ! ) If Elletson via any other company approach you to take out any advertising I personally, like the other posts on here, would stay clear. Their web page looks ok but honesty I don't think they do what they say. Wish I'd seen this page first then I would never have agreed to take out the advert. Please beware.
