Has anyone tried https://www.dux-soup.com for lead gen (the paid version supposedly auto-connects with people on LinkedIn and can then send a personalised message along with the connection request, among other features). Is it worth it?

You need a LinkedIn premium account to be able to do that properly. And a paid dux-soup subscription. I don't know about its effectiveness though.

I have an extensive network in LinkedIn and get several connection requests every single day in LinkedIn. If those requests are from anyone in recruitment or anyone who has "sales" or "business development" or some such in their title I delete the request.

I can't bear sales people who don't know me contacting me to connect! Even worse when it's an automated connection request. Fortunately for them I don't IDK them, but if you dabble with the likes of this kind of automation you risk IDKs and a suspension / ban of your LinkedIn account.

Avoid automation if at all possible for things that you care about. Of course sequence after harvesting through paid advertising with a proper funnel. Learn to do the process manually first then if you must automate some aspects of it.

It is not worth it, there are other ways to connect. Find contacts that can help you and you can help them. If they think you have something helpful for them will connect with you.

For those interested, I managed to speak with someone who actually uses Dux Soup. He said it works well for him. What's important is the right targeting and messaging. The best is of course that it works at scale.

You could argue that those LinkedIn contact requests that come in with a "personal" message are similar to spam. But I don't see how it's any different to sending cold emails or making cold calls.

Using your network to connect is of course the best option if possible, but this doesn't work at scale and often you won't have anyone to connect you to a particular business.

I guess this tool may work for some and not for others. Perhaps depends on the industry / target customer etc.

I personally use Miraget plugins for generating leads for my business and I am very happy with it.

They can tell which businesses visited my website and provide me with website address, email, telephone and even the profile of their business which I can use to send personalized marketing campaigns. I can store all this info in my own database.

They also have a plugin to automatically synchronize the data (as part of the same package) and I use it to sync my website database with my Survey Monkey data. I think you can synchronize with many other databases, but I have not tried yet.

I find the price to be very good compared to other alternatives. They also have a free package, but you get less leads compared to paid packages.

It does work, but as others have said here it can look a little spammy. It's basically just a numbers game at the end with this kind of automation.
