hi,

my computer recently crashed and I had to reinstall the OS, I am I using a iMac High Sierra.

So I had to reinstall all software including DropBox. And I knew it was going to take along to sync everything again.

DropBox appears to be up-to date, but when I try and open any file on my computer I get errors like this: https://www.screencast.com/t/IPjexGUU

Is this something to do with SmartSync? Which I have no idea what that means? And everytime I try to look at sync preferences the Dropbox system crashes!

Confused! :)

You might wanna think about why it crashed in the first place. I would consider checking the imac first. You run an old macos so I come to believe your imac is a 2010-2012 model year and most likely you got a faulty hard drive.

Sorry to be late in responding, Dropbox didn't crash the computer did. So I have reinstalled the OS, and computer is working fine on all other software.

And now Dropbox folder gives me the error... Even though Dropbox says it is upto date

I can download from Dropbox. But for some reason they are not available from within my Folder "Dropbox'

I am wondering if it has something to do with SmartSync? Where some files are online only?
