I'm in the same situation. I set up a LTD company over a year ago, but for various reasons never traded, it's completely dormant. However, I didn't close it, as there is a possibility I will start using it.

Anyway, I set it up for online web filing on companies house website, as this reduced the fees you pay.

Then a few weeks ago, I filed my annual return myself (little bit tricky, but with advice I managed it). And I filed my accounts also - since the turnover is zero this was a doddle (dormant company accounts). This cost me £13, and will do every year.

Happy to give further advice if you need it.

If the company has never traded then you will still be required to file DORMANT ACCOUNTS by the deadline as set by Companies House. This is a very simple process that can be completed in 5 minutes - however you must be registered for WebFiling in order to do this.

I would be happy to talk you through the process FOC should you require any further assistance.

Dormant accounts are very basic simplified accounts (basically a statement of assets and liabilities).

You cant just enter zero's they have to be correct.

You dont have to use an accountant but if you arent familiar with accounts you'll find lots of accountants who will deal with this for you, it shouldnt cost a huge amount. Its certainly something my firm does.

Take a look at Section 3 in this form:
Companies House - Dormant company Accounts (form)

If you can fill that out, then the rest of the form is simple stuff. If you can't fill it out, then you will need to pay an accountant to do it for you.

With a bit of Google research over a couple of hours, I managed to do it myself, and I know nothing about company accounts.

"ToYourInbox"(Andrew) above has offered to help you, and I would take him up on his kind offer - he has listed his telephone number. It should take no more than 10 mins to talk this through with somebody who knows this area.
