Contact form: please add my website to your website

Me: Hi, what do you mean?

Contact form: Dear etc. etc. we're a company doing xyz can we guest post?

Me: you can post anything you like as long as it's not self-promotional. See terms, etc.

Contact form: Thank you for the clarification. my work is very transparent and genuine work i request pls add my landing page url, my websites and services

Plenty of wrongness in a short exchange.

I'd pick up on the 'minimum expectation' aspect

'Transparent'
'Genuine'

The absolute minimum I'd expect- and that is their headline benefit, that they (claim they) will meet that minimum expectation?

I think the guy is a SEO hire somewhere in India who's simply trying to post links on behalf of this US company. He's been told 'no, it doesn't work that way' but he insists with 'please, add it anyway'.

Unless I misunderstood your comment?

I just delete them, used to reply but don't bother any more.
You don't?

How are you going to capitalise on all the wonderful opportunities out there, such as this one? ;)

Gooday from France

I hope this mail finds you in good health, my name is Mr. Olivier Gabriel Balzac, a practicing lawyer in Bordeaux France.

I have previously sent you a letter without any response from you, the letter is regarding a transaction of US$13.5 Million left behind by my late client before his tragic death. However, I am reaching out to you once again because after going through your profile, I strongly believe that you will be in a better position to execute this business transaction with me.

I suggest after the transaction, we donate 5% of the money to charity organizations while the remaining 95% is shared equally between us.

This transaction is 100% risk free, and the intended transaction will be processed under legitimacy, which will protect both parties from any violation of law.

For more details about the transaction, kindly respond to me via my email <email address>
for further explanations and better understanding.

I look forward to your response.

Kindest Regards.

There are a whole bunch of desperate people outside the UK who have paid for a list and now send emails offering SEO, website makeovers and other services. They are all so dense they don’t realise they are all sending the same message to the same email addresses. A check of the spam folder on the server shows me over 150 identical emails. All apparently from various celebrities.

I don't believe those are emails being sent manually. I think these are bot-generated emails that are sent to most sites with a contact form (or equivalent), as part of various spam campaigns, in the hope to attract an easy target.

I too used to get junk stuff, either via contact form rubbish or junk user registrations, to the tune of 20-30 a day. Then I got fed up and added some anti-spam stuff, and now it's down to 1 every 1-2 months.

The emails are all sent to an email address that has never been on a contact form. Agree though it’s probably a bot.

As I said to the wife last weekend after she called me gullible

'I don't have to put up with this. There are attractive ladies out there who are dying to meet me'

I used to get lots of ladies wanting to meet me. But when I installed an ad blocker they all disappeared! Which is why advertising is needed.
