Hi,
I have an online business selling chairs and baby prams. Due to recent stocking of new lines, I find myself sending between 500 and 600 parcels every month. I have a parcelforce contract and the chairs above 30kg are going with a pallet company. I find both of these are not cost-effective options.

We send parcels of different size and weights. Most of the parcels are on the larger side. Most of the goods we sell are below 30kg, although we do sell some larger chairs as well which are 44kg and 58kg. 95% of our parcels are within UK. Some of those are to Isles and Highlands.

The sizes and weights of the parcels we need to send can be found below. If anyone has experience or valuable knowledge of which couriers might be best for sending these parcels, it will be very much appreciated.

78*32*59cm 15kg
80*45*64cm 17kg
105*46*48cm 18kg
77*76*42cm 23kg
82*65*68cm 29kg
78*80*80cm 44kg

Thanks a ton

We send large bulky boxes weighing up to 30kg regularly, we have an account with Interlink and they all come under there standard package delivery service,

The one issue I can see is with the 44kg one, most couriers limit the max weight to 30kg per package, you might need something more specialist for this if it can't be broken down into 2 separate boxes.

Hope this helps,

Darren

Why not just use Interparcel.com and get the best prices every time? And you usually get UPS as the cheapest option, which are by far the best courier on the planet, IMO.

Thanks for the information. I have obtained some prices from interparcel.com just now and they are showing up as £19.07+VAT for some of the bigger parcels under 30kg, unless I use Yodel whose service I have found unacceptable. Can perhaps look to send two of the smallest size parcels with them.

Don't have the details in front of me but they all look fine.

Just give them a call and they will put you onto your local rep who will come round and have a chat. Not sure if they will be taking on new customers until the new year though as quite a lot of couriers dont during Dec.

Having an account with a courier is quite a bit cheaper than using someone like Interparcel if you doing some qty.

Sorry for the delay!

I currently pay £7.00 per parcel with Interlink but that includes insurance of up to £1000 per consignment and is on a special pre-12:00 schedule.

Best bet is to ring you local depot to have a chat. We got good rates but also have a set pickup time each day which was very important to us, our local Interlink office always seems very accommodating and the drivers are good.

City link will take individual parcels up to 100kg and big stuff too. On your volume you are probably looking around £6 up to 20kg and then 20p or so per kilo up to 100.

We use them and send big heavy stuff like stoves and tool chests all the time.
