Choosing terms when registering trademark

We want to register our company name as a trademark. I've checked all the requirements and don't think there will be any problems.

We produce clothing and footwear (class 25) and also have retail outlets (class 35) so will register for those two classes. So far so good.

I've started the process online but when I select a class it comes up with about a thousand terms within that class for me to choose from (e.g. ankle boots, anoraks, aprons, etc.)

Should I select everything in case we want to produce, say, aprons in the future? Or will that risk the application being rejected because we're not currently producing aprons?

Hi.

Many people like to keep the specification of the classes as wide as possible and it is very common to just put clothing, footwear and headgear in class 25. You can even put clothing, footwear and headgear and then add some more specific terms that you know you will be selling. Also think of the future. Be careful though as once the application is submitted the classes cannot be added to and you would have to file a new application.

It helps to look at the classes of some trademarks that have already been registered and use theirs!
