Hi,

I need a printing firm to print business cards for me on to plastic (sort-of) material, that resembles the new bank notes.

I don't mean like a normal business card printed on to plastic instead of card, instead think of a very similar material needed to resemble 'paper' money.

I run an accounting firm and my business card resembles a bank note.
Don't worry, it's all above board and I'm not getting you involved with money copying here.

It's just a clever business card design with a play on money - obviously relevant.

I've been in contact with De La Rue but they can't help.
Anybody...

The material Tyvek might do the job, most commerial printers with their own press should be able to do it, from memory it needs different ink to paper.

Make sure you're sat down when you get a price, Tyvek is expensive.

If you only need low quantities, there are digitally printable polyester materials, we used some a few years ago, but still expensive compared to paper..

If you want it to be as thin as the 'paper' notes then that would probably cause issues...as above the Tyvek may be ok although I think it tends to be a thicker material - 200 microns or so and would need to be litho printed which would make it expensive unless you are having a a decent amount printed

Try a company called HLP Klearfold. They mainly do plastic packaging/boxes and I know they do plastic business cards (that you say you don’t want!) but they do various types of plastic packaging and printing...may be able to offer something.

Synaps is similar to Tyvek (i think), but again it is expensive but may do the job. There are varying thicknesses of both types of material. Most of my print partners call these products "tearproof business cards" so it may be worth searching for that. I can supply these but may not be as cheap as some places with their own press.
