I'm looking for a nice simple easy to use Opencart Theme where the categories are displayed vertical and the horizontal menu is the Home, About us, T & C etc. any suggestions? I'm using Opencart Version 1.5.6.4.

Hello,

Opencart have a large number of themes available - the best website for themes is: themeforest.net

I have always used them for my themes, check out my website theme which is based upon Journal (which is no.2 most sold on themeforest) sortedgifts.com

Just an update i have purchased Journal2 theme, looks good and it has a blog which i wanted but i have had installation problems. Got it showing in admin side on the modules and installed and then changed default theme to Journal but site is not showing, all my website is showing is "Featured" any idea's what has happend? I have submitted ticket to support but it is saying it could take up to 48 hours to get a response.

Impossible to say without looking and more detail, but sounds like you need to step back to the beginning, read the documentation on installation and try and install without 'problems'. I'm only guess but you could have some files that didn't get copied over.

Yes i did install vQmod and did a test to make sure it was running. Unfortunately last night whilst trying to remove files and start again i accidentally removed a wrong file and might site did not work at all, luckily my host automatically keeps back-ups and uploaded an earlier version for me.

I have since had a reply from the help desk and they have offered to check it for me, so i'm going to first try to re-install my self and if it does not work this time allow help desk access to my site to check it for me.

Sounds a good plan Feldon, I must say I've found their guys a great help, and they have gone well beyond the call of duty helping me resolve a couple of small niggles that weren't even theme related, they seem to know what they are doing.

I like to try and do it myself if i can otherwise you never learn how to do it and always have to get someone else to do it for you. Can be frustrating though but worth the pain when you get it finished.

Just tried to install again from scratch and got the same problem, when i click on my website the page is just white except for one word "Featured".

So waiting on support to sort it out, hopefully they will let me know what i did wrong so i will know for future reference.

Well is now partially working, support said not all the files uploaded correctly, however they didn't bother to check it was working correctly and when i tried to set up menu's ect in admin i got a error message saying corrupted files, so not to pleased so far with customer service and they take 25 hours to reply. Hopefully will get this sorted tomorrow sometime but very frustrating.

This one is not bad on the themeforest.net calling ultimatum, altough all themes has good and bad sides, but at least the developer offers really great support, good theme, there are most modules that will be needed for a webshop including blog, rating is quite high, worth looking at. We have this one monikasgiftshop.co.uk built on that template, we are quite happy, but still need some work to be done on it.

I've managed to sort it now and have got Journal2 installed and up and running, one thing i really like about this theme is the built in blog also the ability to add content to any page. Still got a bit of work to do with tweaking but it looks really good already.
