Welcome to the forums.

Our division use mainly Soldiworks to carry out 3D and 2D CAD work. We specialise in product design and development. The CAD work we do is to help conceptualise the product's idea and functions it carries out. The CAD work also helps us produce prototypes and manufacturing tooling.

How is work in your field these days?

My father-in-law is a highly renowned architect (and architectural technician, whatever that is) and uses CAD services if you'd like to introduce yourself to him.

His name is Karam Chana and you can call him on 0121 308 1324 - perhaps there may be some mutual benefit.

Good luck anyway! :)

Hi Colin, well how about that... Me too! I live on the wigginton road not too far from the college. I`m also from a design background having used autocad for many years, too many to remember, but nowadays my company uses 3D pro-e mostly. I have a few contacts in the cladding industry, more-so in the window and door industry. I may need your services in the future and I will certainly keep you posted if I hear of anybody needing cad work!

Hi red-source,
Its a small world, I am down on Riverside, by Hopwas.
When I first started out in this trade, a long time ago, I worked for a company in Tamworth called Planet Windows, designing windows, doors & curtain walling glazing products for the commercial industry.
They are no longer trading, although their head office is, Percy Lane on the Lichfield road.
Having moved around the country working for several companies who have been involved in "envelope contracting" designing & supplying roofing, cladding & glazing systems.
I hope you are busy in this turbulant time & hope to hear from you with any leads you may have.
Regards

Hi everyone,
I am just starting up as a freelancer providing architectural CAD drawing services. As an example of the kind of work I do, my first client needs some drawings for some small internal renovations to their house.
I was hoping for some advice regarding contracts and disclaimers (between myself and my client), or for contact details for someone who could help with that?
Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone,
Today I was searching for some jobs as a CAD technician and I found this post! Below you will find some details about me:
I am working as a self-employed for nearly a seven years now, as a CAD technician.
I use a range of software to create design plans for buildings and have worked across a variety of projects, where I deal mainly with 3D solid modeling techniques, although a number of other projects I have worked are focused around 2D surface modeling techniques.
I have also helped to prepare cost estimates on projects.
I have a sound knowledge of architectural and engineering design principles, good numeracy and computer skills, good communication skills, knowledge of material properties; I am flexible and adaptable; I am able to meet deadlines and enjoy working as part of a team.
I have a Graphisoft Certificate for Archicad 11 Basic Training, which allowed me to specialise in 2D and 3D design. The companies that I work for, used ArchiCAD, and also ran some more specialised software packages, including AutoCAD, Revit, Artlantis and Correl Draw.
If you need more informations don't hesitate to contact me.
Thanks
