'customers like me'? hhmmmm
may be they should give a little more info, prehaps postal code?
for example, YORKSHIRE is a large place, if im looking for a business in harrogate, why should i display wakefield or sheffield etc.... understand?
Although I can't speak for businessesforsale, we have run Business-sale for about 15 years, and one of the reasons we don't give postcodes out is that that many of the businesses for sale are medium to large in size, and it is too easy to identify them from their postcode. Some of the owners selling businesses don't want their staff to find out the business is on the market. Others want to remain anonymous to everyone apart from vetted prospective purchasers who have signed an NDA.
In our case, we don't charge people who are selling any listing fee.
That way we get a more comprehensive database of UK businesses for sale. Upon payment of a small fee, the buyer gets the contact details of that business and any other business we have on the database, including every company going into administration.
Considering his/her potential outlay for a business purchase, it's not usually a big issue to pay a small fee to get access to such a large information source.
I guess the idea is that they give a general overview of the service they provide. Anyone who is genuinely serious about buying a business will then pay the fee to access the information.
i paid £15 plus VAT for the info, and it wasnt even located where the advert marginally suggested, so, it was a waste!
you charge a FEE because you run a business, you will get time wasters yes your right, but you also make a double whammy!!
ps- i paid £15 plus VAT for the info, and it wasnt even located where the advert marginally suggested, so, it was a waste!
though, personally, i think you are at it, a dreamer and expect a business to land in your lap for free - you'll probably never get one off the ground and if you do, it'll fail - and guess what, you'll think it's all someone elses fault
i take it you own one of these sites....
do you see the likes of rightmove or estate agents doing the same? NO
i rest my case
