Hi

We have a small sales and Lettings agency that just uses our family name and the logo etc looks very traditional.

We are investing a lot in new technology giving buyers, sellers, landlords etc a log in platform where they can control the whole process.

I feel a modern re-brand is needed when this new system goes live.

What you do think of “Four Walls”

I already own the domain so that’s not an issue but I am not sure if it suits an estate agents.

I feel it covers a lot of buildings, as all buildings have four walls.

Please let me know your thoughts good or bad.
Thank you.

Four Walls has been used to describe prisons and other institutions where freedom is curtailed.

Keep your exiting name. It's recognised by customers and clients and Google so don't mess things up. Make sure the new portal is a subdomain of the old site. That way you won't lose all your hard work of many years.

Tend to agree, if you've an established reputation as a small firm with all the connotations that brings (small enough to care, independent, supporting local etc) then unless you have absolutely huge growth plans then I'd try and retain that.

    There's nothing wrong with a rebrand, updating your logo and if you can trying to fuse the traditional side with a more modern message. Both in your logo but potentially also slogan, you know something along the lines of;

    XYZ Estate Agents
    Family Run. Forward Thinking.

    XYZ Estate Agents
Passionate about property for over 50 years.

    XYZ Estate Agents
Pioneers in property sales for over 50 years.

    XYZ Estate Agents
    Modern Approach. Traditional Values.

I don't know, I made those up in the last 30 seconds so forgive the cheesiness! But why not try and highlight that you have the history and knowledge and expertise, but you're NOT old fashioned.

Thank you, that does make sense. I have no plans to expand massively. A family member did the same, its a nice big business, but no he has massive overheads, he hardly gets a day off and he works 24/7. Our business is more of a lifestyle business now and id like to keep it that way. I think you are right, a good slogan will help drum in the modern message i want to get across. Thank you for your help.

It's been 3 years since you last asked about this!

A google search of 'four walls' will tell you it's not a good choice.
