Me and my business partner have two different views on what name we should use for our new business and so we want advice on which you think is best - this will be the deciding factor.

It is basically a cashback shopping site with a twist - when you shop through our website, members earn cashback and donate to their favourite charities at the same time.

We are down to the last 2 names, so which do you prefer, taking into account what would make a memorable brand - they are

UshopUcare
or
Kashco

Thanks,
Nicola

I believe you could do alot more around your corporate identity and branding for UshopUcare. May be wrong though, next you should be asking for people to put forward logo designs for UshopUcare, bet there would be some great ideas.

UshopUcare carries a branding that if done right could benefit your business in the long run and i have to ask Nichola Is UshopUcare your idea or your partners cause it seems that you like the fact that UshopUcare is getting the majority of vote (i imagine a smile on your face)

If you need any help with this give us a bell 01344 707356

I hate brand names with U, R and 4 in them, I think they will date and you'll end up with a business that sounds Soooo 2002.

I think it has something to do with my loathing of text speak.

Also I see a lot, and I mean a lot, of rubbish shopping directories and they are all scrabbling about trying to find a url with 'shop' in them and often use these letters instead of words leaving them all undistinguished.

I hope you have bought both your URLs with at least the .co.uk if not the .com as now you have published them they will be gone in a heartbeat.

Don't forget to check your choice properly for any obvious trade mark infringement -email me if you need help.

Thanks for the advice - yes we have bought both the domains in .com and .co.uk and David - you guessed correctly I do like ushopucare more than Kashco - it is more descriptive and as you say, the potential branding is much higher than with Kashco.

I understand peoples reservations with the "u" but I have found when thinking of a name - you have to make sure the domains are available (especially as an online business) and there are very few decent names available. I'm sure if we weren't worrying about the domain, we could do alot better, but unfortunately we don't have that luxery.
