Business gone quiet

We've gone really quiet this month - anyone else experiencing the same thing? My own websites plus Amazon all gone down sharply in sales for no apparent reason. Just wondering if this is a general trend.

We are finding quite a lot of people are away on holiday at the moment... this obviously has an effect but sales for our merchants seem to be steady if not slightly above this time last year.

Thanks for the feedback. We've had quiet June's in the past, but for some reason last year we had a strong one - this year, dead so far. As you say, some people are on holiday, but also I suspect people may be saving not only for the sales, but also for their August holidays. Given the economic climate, people might be more careful about their holiday spending money. Those are my thoughts, anyway.

We found that June was looking OK until all the bad news towards the end of the month (strikes, euro, Greece etc.) started coming out and people seemed to get all worried again, just like they did last autumn after thecut back announcements... Normally we find that the demand is still there, it just changes/delays purchasing patterns and we need to analyse over longer periods to get the true numbers.

Yep dead as a door nail here to, seems really random to go from regular good business to flat as a pancake for the last 3 weeks. Looks like things are due to pick up at the end of the month again though.

June was good, July about 50% down on June :( Glad to hear it's not just us then (well not glad, but you know what I mean)

Summer months are normally quieter, due to more people being away from work.

Things normally pick up in September.

June - August and December have always been quiet for us. Picks up in September and January when people realise they need more sales / leads and decide to get a website to help, which, of course, do help!
