My web developers recommended Cube Cart and it has been straightforward to use (as a non IT person) and has the majority of features I wanted. There are lots of extra 3rd party modules available as well.

i don't claim this shoppingcartelite to be the best but I've been using this one for quite sometime now and so far i haven't got issues..
