Are these programs on the internet any good? Are there any free options that work or are you better to manually submit each article to article sites and the same with social bookmarking sites?

Im a little confused by it all and not sure how to proceed.

when i used social bookmarking for the first time my website's traffic doubled, then tripled, i actually prefer to submit my articles myself only to high authority websites (ex: ezinearticles, goarticles), if your article is good it will convert, i'm using 400 words articles so i can keep reader attention on my products. The idea is submitting articles to more websites like ezine it's useless because you can submit only unique articles, and you are loosing visitors from this big websites.

thanks for the info

do you add the same article to the top 5/10 or so sites or have 1 unique article per article website?

only unique, for them..., example i submit 1 unique article to ezine then i spin half of the content of that article and the other half i make sure that is unique, then i combine the paragraphs and submit it to goarticles, that's it.

I use submityourarticle.com for a couple of months. Can't say that the results have been outstanding so far. However, that may be more to do with the nature of my subject matter and the fact that I haven't yet managed brought it to life.

However, for the better writers amongst us it does have some advantages. It does allow multiple submissions of your articles and so save huge great gobs of time. It also has an Article Leverage tool whereby you can vary the headline and each sentence or just each paragraph. This means that for about 20 mins extra work, you can offer each article directory site 'unique' content.

The one slight disappointment is that you can't add images such as graphs.

Best Regards

Never really seen much benefit from these from a SEO standpoint.

Automated social bookmarking can marginally increase a site's traffic in terms of real numbers as aside from percentiles, but it's worth noting much of this will come from bots anyway.

If you really want to leverage social media, you really need a hands-on controlled approach.

Article sites are pretty much dead in the water IMO - there are a couple of strong ones such as ezinearticles.com that might send some direct traffic, especially if you play the keyword titles game to leverage the site's positioning - but that's the same for any website you use that way. Most article sites are not cached/indexed and offer no real traffic prospects and zero SEO benefits.

IMO.

Did you not read Brians reply?

Articles have nmore value if you host them yourself. Make them an integral part of your site that way you get to keep all of the benefits with lots of luverly internal linking.

I would suggest you keep away from software because websites like digg, stumbleupon etc know when profiles are being created by software programs, your best bet is to sit down and go through them all manually, maybe just do one a day
