Are you a Christian?

You're absolutely right, theres no one called connie on my ignore list. ;)

Consistency is though - permanently. There's no forgiveness, no absolution, no possibility of ever entering the all encompassing light of my dialogue box. :D

I can see straight through him. He is premanently and irrevokably ignored by me.

He's a religious headcase, would you agree?

I suspect what Parthelan will do, and may not do it if he sees this first is go on to his settings, put me on his ignore list so he can copy and paste it to show you all I am there and then go back to his old settings. So long as he does not get distracted by someone wanting to dip into his well worn wallet for the 27th time this day.

I think he cannot stand the fact that I do not like Christmas and things like that and I think the mainstream are subtly anti-Christ.

I do not know what he thinks of me but I know one thing - God knows!!! :)

If he is jealous he can pray. Do you like me Massey? Bet you do really, I like you! :) :)

That in itself wouldnt bother me.

It's the fact he has the front to lecture people on what's right and wrong in here, tell people they are in error, and mistaken, and subject them to all sorts of diatripes on religion and the Bible - uninvited - and he DIDNT even know what his own church taught on Jesus and God !!!!!! I had to point it out to him :D

He criticised a church of england website for not selling the Bible, even though he later admitted when I questioned him he didnt actually KNOW they didnt sell the Bible, and that it was based on a pic of their shop on the net. He didnt even know his own church didnt sell the bible either - I had to point that out to him too - while criticiising mainstream churches  And in fact I called the bookshop in question out of curiosity - they sell the Bible, they have a library from which you can borrow up to 8 books at a time, which includes every translation of the bible known to man and they have a reading room. But he comes on here and slags them off in that Im the only real christian on here way he has.

Now he appears to be involved with a new church ministry

He even admitted to picking and chosing the bits of the bible and church teaching he agrees with, and ignoring the bits he finds inconvenient. How dare someone like that lecture people on their faith, when he runs a pic n mix shop of beliefs

And finally, if theres a happy little fun thread on here, regardless of what its about, he will find some way or other of sucking the air out of it and turning it into some crusade or other about the rights of people with disabilities, employee rights, political correctness, - something, he'll find something to knock the fun out of it - and then start sermonising.

For these, and many other reasons, he stays permanently ignored.

Regardless of what christmas stands for it's a time where most people come together. So It's not evil is it?

I knew that the church I was involved in at that time was not selling or giving away the Bible. That was what made me concerned. So I looked at the Church I was a member of at that time FIRST and the others SECOND.

I looked on the internet at that site, only one which I refered to on here as that was a random search and did not see a Bible for sale. That was on their internet shop.

Parthelan did not have to point out anything to me, I have not and do not look into absolutely everything and the part that you referred to about Jesus being God was twisted very much by yourself to suit your argument and which DCE did a better job than I can at answering that.

There were several things that I disagreed with in the Church that I was in, not about scripture as such but other things. I wanted to be more active and evangelise and go into the street. The new ministry allows me to do this.

I have no embarrassment or shame at all in leaving one church and would do this 20 times in a year if it brought me closer to a right one. It is far better to turn around and start again, rather than stay on a long, wrong road. That is the beauty of putting God before Pride. This is allowed.

No, I do not pick and choose the parts of the Bible that I want to believe in. You just want me to say things that might 1, get me banned or 2, get me prosecuted.

You know well that many laws nowadays are against God and the criticism of these laws and the subjects and acts that these laws defend are punishable. I already have several infractions for this!

Jump up and down threee times Parthelan. It may help if you get chance between opening your wallet and sipping home made lemonade in your fancy garden, get a box of cornflakes and squash them all. Crush all of them to bits. It is fab!

God bless you.

The main thing is for people to know God and to feel the freedom that knowing God gives. It is a joy and the good news is an important joyous message. It is positive and it is good. God loves a trier. He knows when someone is following him or following someone else.

Most people already have their own door stops i would say very insightful of them.

We have a fight on our hands now. This is why religion is evil to me, look at the arguments it causes.

You might have chosen the wrong religion :| working on there being a creator. What makes you so confident to convert others into some thing YOU see as most important.

Regardless of what christmas stands for it's a time where most people come together. So It's not evil is it?

Christmas is not for everyone the most fantastic time. It is full of drunkenness, greed, food wastage, over indulgence, materialism, violence, debt, worry and much more.

For some it is a wonderful time of family get together. But it is fraudulant because many people who celebrate Christmas think this is one of the two times of year to be with God and do their "Christiany bit" when nothing can be further than the truth.

The celebration event itself seems to have become a God, where whatever happens, whatever the cost, Christmas must be celebrated. People long for relatives to survive so they can see Christmas through. It is a time where people are trying so very hard to make the day perfect, there is much tension and the famous Christmas argument afterwards.

I am all for family get togethers and think this is good and admire the family unit and that cannot be wrong but it is what people think it is that is wrong. Many believe that they are doing it as part of a Christian festival but this is not a Christian festival at all. It is the lie of Christmas I oppose and the worship to a pagan God. People deserve the truth.

How many parents in August, are starting to worry about Christmas - especially those in financial hardship? It is further worrying when the Christmas things start to go on the shelves in the Supermarkets.

Not everyone. You are trying to tar everyone with the same brush. That's like saying all jehovah witnesses are paedophiles.

No it's acknowledged by nearly all British people as a time of year where you bury the hatchet with foes and enjoy family life. The core aspects of chrisitanity. It's great huh?

But you preach how religion is important. As far as your concerned people doing their best to celebrate christmas is a good thing?

How many parents in August, are starting to worry about Christmas - especially those in financial hardship? It is further worrying when the Christmas things start to go on the shelves in the Supermarkets.

But these people are putting themselves out, going all out, to clebrate god. It's great surely??

What evidence would you accept to demonstrate the bible is wrong? Give me some evidence.

No, this is not how science works. You need to know in advance if and how your hypothesis is falsifiable.

So, I ask again: what evidence would you accept to demonstrate the bible is wrong?

And, indeed, IS there any evidence you would accept to demonstrate the bible is wrong?

BTW -- to debunk your silly ideas about the flood, I'll point you here:
Why do people laugh at creationists "Hovind Theory, Canopy of water"

How do you explain the problems this video brings up with your hypothesis?

And your saying "God used magic" won't do, I'm afraid, because that's begging the question.

Warmly,

Jon

I do so love religious people. It's like watching a bunch of retarded kids having fun on a day trip to the zoo.
Personally I think you need to have a think about what you are saying before posting. I doubt that using analogies like that to make your point will win you any supporters. :(

I'm not too worried about having supporters, BDW. People can make their own minds up about the facts.

IMO what you said was offensive. If that does not concern you it should.

.

I would say that was a perfect comparison, retards have an intellectual disability.

Do you think people who believe the end of the world is a few days away, or "iminent" as DCE believes don't have some form of intellectual disability...

It isnt a fact that people of faith are, to quote you, like a ''bunch of retarted kids having fun on a day trip to the zoo''

That's just your insulting simile.

And to some of us who have a religious faith, and work on a voluntary basis with children with disabilities, it is indeed offensive.

Not that you're bothered of course, but no harm in pointing this out to you.

Don't confuse intellectual impairment or disability, with the mental health issue of delusion and paranoia.

It's offensive to religious people yes. But BDW is trying to say it's offensive because he used the words "retarded kids" and it's not.

It's no less offensive than a religious person leaving a flyer in my porch telling me i should change my views on life.

Sorry mate - I can't agree.

You are free to ignore any paper left in your porch. All you have to do is make the short journey with it to the bin, or read it and have a good laugh at it's delusion.

But that's a far cry from equating with children who are intellectually impaired, who cannot change their life circumstance, and may, depending on their condition, have limited or no control over their bodily functions, emotional well being, and physical safety.

I dont find the comment offensive because I have a faith, I find it offensive because anything making a mockery of innocent children with such complex needs and using them for a cheap simile to anything is simply offensive.

Your absolutely right but is it fair to compare them to Christians; how do you know that they wouldn't find that extremely offensive.
Seriously though I thought you had more intellect than this.

On reflection i have changed my opinion.

I myself see the comment as a bit of banter but i don't shock easy.

It is not fair to compare them to christians but i guess i just found it funny.
