Any recommended SEO courses?

I'd recommend not to spend money on curse because all the information is available to you for free online. You will get much more accurate info on latest search engine optimization techniques from trusted websites then from your local "seo guru".

I'd start with SEOmoz and continue with the list of top SEO blogs. After you read all of the beginner guides you should start with using that knowledge in practice and after some time you'll be a pretty good SEO yourself ;)

Business Link do free courses which offer some SEO guidance and information. I went on one and it was ok, plus I got to network with other local business owners. I have also picked up lots of tips from the knowledgable guys on here so i'd say invest some time in reading the forums.

Hi again Simon,

To summarise:

1) Download Google's own SEO guide for webmasters (and review webmaster help from Yahoo and Bing...)
2) SeoMOZ is a great place where seasoned SEOers hang out, as is Webmasterworld - others are SEOBook or Search Engine Land.
3) With the above you will begin to learn to distinguish the meat from the chaff, so to speak!

One last idea - go to your fav websites (after doing 1 & 2 above) and see if you can spot where they may be going wrong, what they're doing right and what you would change! Afterall, SEO is all about thinking "outside the box" ;)

Have fun!

Tony

For simple straight forward advice and knowledge read Search Engine Optimization An Hour A Day by Jennifer Grappone and Gradiva Couzin

Then get into all the online stuff as the guys suggest. Then if you still want more go on a course.
