In the earlier days of having a PC we were always told to shut down properly before switching off.

Is that still the case nowadays or is it OK to just flick the switch at the wall when switching off?

Or just leave it on. It’s goes to sleep and uses almost zero energy.

But always shut down properly if you feel you need to turn it off. Flicking the switch can mess up all sorts of things and result in longer boot times while windows fixes everything.
