Advice on starting a business based on metaphysical ideas

Hi there. I am setting up a business that offers a service that will improve the mental state of employees. The service comprises ideas and insights into the nature of reality and the experiencer's connection to their reality. Although that sounds fairly metaphysical, the actual application of the ideas is very simple. My problem at present is that i have no business sense whatsoever, and shaping the ideas into a product that is presentable to my intended market (initially call centres or other large work floors) is proving difficult.
Because the nature of my product is quite unique, i am finding it difficult also to find comparative products with existing templates to guide me. Can anyone please offer any guidance or advice as to how to set up my business effectively from my current position of ideas alone? That must be emphasised - my product is ideas.

I trust you have studied various epistemological philosophers for this venture?

you say
insights into the nature of reality and the experiencer's connection to their reality

Are you talking about the metaphysical aspect of epistemology, or the area based on realism?

I'm asking this because how confident are you that this will benefit employers? Many people who learn about epistemology and the like, tend to see their jobs as less meaningful in the whole scheme of things. To keep employees on the straight and narrow, wouldn't a more conservative message to 'life' be required?

I'm not slating your idea here! I'm just wondering how this works....

are you talking about goal setting and forms of nlp. or somthing like chanting of affermations like "i will do it now, i will do it now" this is an intresting concept , perhaps a new type of inteligent team workshop on the back lash of the recent self help boom.

No slating perceived!

It works kinda like 'no slating perceived'... in that, i can choose to respond to any situation in any way i please because there is no definite required response to any situation. And because i can choose to respond how i please, i may as well choose to respond in a manner that is beneficial to myself. I could take offense if i did perceive slating, or i can take lessons, and various other beneficial aspects, and focus on them.
There is more to it than that obviously, much more in fact, but that gives you a basic idea of what this is about. I don't particularly want to go into detail here though. I do post at a philosophy site already where i can work ideas out without threat from other people, which i am guessing might be the case in the business world. But if you are further interested then feel free to email me.

Sounds more like an Emotional Intelligence course to me, enabling staff to understand both their own emotional reactions to situations but also how best to manage and deal with others, such as learning mirroring techniques, vocal pacing, interpretation of emotional state via body language, personal space, accepting praise and dealing with criticism etc.

Not really, i'd advocate bypassing emotions altogether, i think they are dysfunctional physical distortions of self and reality ignorance. This project will certainly enable people to manage situations, deal with others, and various other life circumstances, but not through what you listed. However, i am now going to go and read up on all you have listed to see if there is anything to be learnt. There is a precedent for a more insightful consideration of human nature already present in the workplace, but things like 'warm fuzzies' as my Dad explained to me are kinda ridiculous and too fallible to be dependent.
Is Emotional Intelligence something you are involved with or are knowledgeable about? If so then you could well be someone i could benefit a lot from discussing with, if you would be interested, and if not, then i am sure you have plenty to offer anyway, so please continue to contribute, it is much appreciated.

I have been on an Emotional Intelligence course, I was skeptical about it's value prior to going on it, deeming it an American, touch feely kinda thing, but actually although there is a little of that, it was actually probably one of the most inciteful courses I've been on, and I think I now actually have taken onboard all of what I learnt.

It's difficult to entirely explain, I think possibly my description did it a disservice as the purpose is to enable rationalisation, empathy, understand that people have differing personality types and to be able to respond to all of those aspects.

I guess it's learning to detach emotion from a situation and deal with things more rationally. I'm definitely a calmer person now, I think less with that all guns blazing emotional response I previously did, I listen more, I'm sure friends would be able to say they saw a difference.

It's worth researching as it does seem that there would be some link in to what you want to do.

No chanting and no affirmations. Nothing against either, i have done buddhist chanting and i repeat a personal affirmation/prayer each morning, but this is more a system of thinking that informs how an individual responds to their reality. I would describe it as a shift in perspective from a reality informed mentality to a mentality informed reality. An example, you receive an angry customer on the phone... a reality informed mentality would be one in which the customer and their anger determines your thinking, your behaviour, your response to them etc. this might include being 'short' with them, an aggitated tone in your voice, even what you communicate to colleagues when you come off the phone as a result of the customer. It is THIS that i am aiming to negate, completely, in favour of a mentality informed reality, which should be fairly self explanatory but which i don't want to discuss her as to how it is achieved.
