Advice on PC Equipment

I'm moving my company to a new office next week and need to order some more pc's.

I'm unsure whether to order them with Windows 7 Pro/Ultimate 32-bit or 64-bit OS.

Would I be better getting 32-bit or 64-bit OS for business use? Any advice appreciated. Thanks

Well, thinking about it, I want 4Gb RAM so will this mean I will have to use 64-bit to make use of all of the memory?

Its now the OS it should have been. I like it so much i've bought 4 copies for my home pc's

Thanks for confirming, I went with Win 7 Pro 64-bit on the machines as they will all have 4Gb RAM

It's anything over 4gb for 64 bit... You could have got the 32 bit, but IMO 64 bit will last longer

To see/use the full 4Gb Ram, 64bit is a must. 32Bit will see up to approx 3.5Gb ram

You have 64bit hardware, why go the 32bit route with its software? The main reason why 64bit pcs are sold with 32bit is the software market still has not caught up with the hardware market yet (it's getting there). Compatibility issues etc...
My brain can cope with 8bit and some 16, 32 floating points But then get into the Mantissa and that's hard going lol.
The new block size coming for hdds will also be interesting to see what happens, Win7 has that capability as does Vista.

You can have issues with 64 bit and software - I have.

There has to be a reason that you can see to go 64 bit to compensate for hassles

4GB is an example.

I think you made a good choice going with 64-bit. It is not pretty much the standard.
