Adult Website Needs A Backer

hello, my name is james i'm 28 years old, live in cardiff, south wales.
over the past few months i have been un-employed, in that time i have returned to class to study website design. since completing the course i have developed a fun adult website!
being un-employed i have spent more money than i have developing the idea which is why i am looking for a backer!
£7000 to be exact!
the reason, because even with my newly aquired skills part of the project was beyond my talents as a developer! their bill was quite high! combine that with the bill from the solicitors for the t&c's brings the total to £7000!
the site is 80% complete! has a beta test site up and running! and i have a full business plan available apon request.
both my tutor and the professional developers agree to website has the potential to make alot of money through advertising alone, then there are money making ideas for the future of the site. all the info is in the business plan!
thanks for reading
james.

On a forum like this, all you'll get is the scorn and laughter of the past two pages. You won't get respect here unless you're already successful in a way that the vocal posters recognise - that means things they already agree with or businesses that they are very familiar with. Success in any other way will not be believed, and ideas that they are not already familiar with will be scorned. This is a very conservative forum in that respect.

If Facebook's creators had posted about their 'new idea' here prior to launch, they'd have been laughed and ridiculed out the door. The very idea of another MySpace!

I guess you have the "Next big thing affiliate, get free $$" website just waiting to explode into our lives then do you?

As most on here will recognise, 7k is not a lot of money to find, even easier should family and close friends believe in your idea.

Currently being unemployed, is by default, at least a little bit suspicious, not getting the site finished, even if the developer got a share of the site for work already completed, is even more questionable.

May I be as bold as to state that this site will never see the light of day, never mind the OP clearing the decks of debt due to very a loose grip on responsibility?.

Yes they probably would have.
But I suspect they embarked on that little journey with the experience and Know-how and money to not have to ask a forum on a Sunday morning to ask for 7k for an unfinished, very niche and unadvertised page full of coding!

Unemployed+Adult sex toy site= One of Britains finest!

"spent more money than i have securing site name, servers etc"

- how much does this cost come to exactly...??
- Post a invoice for the developers?
- post your URL for the site/
- post the ROI for the investor
to start with...

that will assure any investor that at least you have something to offer.

After which other questions will crop up, but its a starting point, right now... everybody is being asked to clear your debt, and they don't even know what they are getting in return.

Do that and a serious business discussion may start taking place... you may even start getting bidders wanting to be part of a great idea... (that is if it is a great idea).

manpoints.einfinity.co.uk
this is only the test site, just an example, the manpoints test is un-available.. in fact its the part of the site that has been developed by the professionals!
take a look see what you think.

I think if you really want someone to invest you will need to link them to the 80& site, send over your invoices to show what you have paid for, detailed business plan + info.

Otherwise people will just take the mick out of it (further!)

you think a man-points test is going to be the next big thing?!?!:eek::eek:

Just checked the rest of the site as well... unoriginal 'borrowed' content

What on earth have you forked out £7k for?!
Well we totally agree on this one

Cheap site, unoriginal content, no signs of any real uniqe development. Apparantly has a shed load of members allready!

Backers and advertisers need much more solid truthful information than the OP is giving

Fact: the adult market done right is lucarative
Fact: lots of chancers in this market too

Advice
- Keep your business share, start small and grow the business. If it is a good one it will finance itself

Expain simply - what is your USP

Why is it so many web designers come out with "what is your USP" over and over again?

I'm not defending the OP, who is clearly not a serious business proposition, but come on - you don't need a USP - as a web designer you should know this!

Compare 10 web design companies, and apart from a few differences in how they do things, you'll find very little differentiation. So it's a little ironic that it's always web designers and web marketers that are first to scream "what is your USP".

It seems as though all answers/responses/communication is going around in circles.
Dude you need to address in detail the above questions to get anybody interested in a serious business discussion.
You keep blaming the forum for not taking you seriously or your idea....
the fact is you are asking for 7K - but giving no info back

Frankly you seem like someone who is not actually worth investing in... even if your idea is a good one!
sorry for the statement, but everyone who wants to know more has asked quite clearly the info they require... you have not delivered.

yet you keep coming back with a statement "test site" -
What is the 7K going to buy??? a test site??

Yes business plan post it
Yes site details post
yes developers info post it
Yes be clear in what you are offering
what % of revenue
revenue is generated from what? advertising/sale of goods etc etc .....

This is a crazy idea. And if someone has charged you 7k for it then you have been robbed.

I suggest you either hand the site over to the developer and put it down to a lesson learned. Or contact the national lottery and ask for the names and addresses of all the winners over 1 million quid.

You need someone with loads of cash and no idea what to spend it on to make a success of this one.
