301 Redirects Not Working On Mobile/Tablet

I have recently made a new website and have redirected the content from the old pages to the new ones.

This works perfectly fine when tested on desktop. However when I test it on mobile or tablet it doesn't work.

An example redirect I have used is below in my .htaccess file:
RedirectPermanent /old-post newsite(.co.uk)/new-post

(had to put .co.uk in brackets due to url posting rule.)

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Probably a caching issue. Redirects are server side so are unaffected by the device. But they are affected by local or ISP caching.

I see a non responsive site built on the genesis framework (yuk). Is this the new site?

    As fisicx mentioned, it sounds like a cache issue. Your browser's cache (on your local machine/phone/tablet) will cache pages, and redirects.....so the water can become muddy when it comes to testing changes.

    A couple of things to try;

    • Try an incognito window (chrome).
    • Try a different browser altogether
    • Is your google analytics showing hits to the old pages?
    • Try a redirect tester such as this one
    If you can paste or pm some URLS for us to test I'd be happy to do so.
