2011 had been a loooooong and difficult year - especially personally.

I realised a lot of things within myself and found new limits within myself.

I've just done my monthly accounts to discover December - usually my worst month ever has now become my most successful month ever - double anything I have ever achieved! This has also driven 2011 to be my most rewarding year ever and also the best year to be a customer of mine - lots of benefits.

I feel from 2011 the main lessons I have learned are:

- Marketing is best attacked head on when you know what you are doing - I brought 'what you need to know about marketing' changed my life: http://simonmiddleton.com/books

- You have to take risks - I LOVE making money just not spending it, I spent the last 6 months making some good investments which have paid me back very very well.

- Pick up the phone! Whenever you come across a potential prospect that may need your service, pick up the phone and call them it's not as difficult or harsh as you may think

- Life's difficult and very short and we never know what happens tomorrow - use the negatives to spur you on and fuel you to greater things!

That’s my little high over for now, but seriously for anyone who thinks times are hard and they maybe can’t see the light - keep at it, if I can do it, you can too!

Heres to a succesful 2012 to you all and I hope to work with more of you guys in the future!

Nice to hear a good positive story - I've just bought that book you've linked to on a separate recommendation so look forward to it arriving :)

I really hope you get as much out of it as possible, i've always struggled with marketing and this book made it so simple.
I struggle with reading these days as well - i cant stand long winded rubbish that doesnt get to the point - I could read this book all day and night!

I Love Spreadsheets

The last 6 months of 2010 was a real low point for the business. My daughter was ill in hospital and the business was on hold while I looked after the family.

So this time last year I was down to my last £50 in the business and no orders in the order book. I took a risk and rather than spending that last £50 on food I risked it on some AdWords.

Best gamble I ever took. I got a couple of small orders, which in turn enabled me to pay for more marketing. This Christmas the order book is full and I'm looking to expand my services in 2012.

So in 2011 I managed to prove that it wasnt a fluke the first time I set the business up

Yes its funny how things turn around. I personally had a bad third quarter last year, due to my own laziness. Buckled down in the fourth quarter and have had three great conversions in 2012, all unexpected really. Its proved to me that I need to get off my butt moreand be focused...
2012 here we come;)
