Hi, I recently started an adult lingerie and toys business, I have a website but due to the nature I'm limited in where I can advertise. If anyone has any ideas it would be appreciated as I'm really stuck. Thanx

Thanx for your reply. I'll look where competitors advertise, same as I say tho it's hard with the nature of the site, I don't want to be putting posters of half naked women everywhere haah

It’s a big money business. Which means big money for marketing and lots of heavy competition.

Are you dropshipping or are you holding your own stock?

Hi Stuart,

I agree with Mr D, your best approach will be to do some research on how your competitors market their products - this will give you an idea of the type of places where it's acceptable to post this content.

Moving forward, once you have customers be sure to capture their email addresses, this way you can pretty much sent any content you want if they've agreed to receive it and confirmed that they're over 18.

In which case you have massively compounded the problem.

Your only option is to outbid or be more clever with your advertising. And even then it will be a struggle as you will be competing with everyone else using the same dropshipper.

As above, check out your competitors and be very careful if you go down the road of add-words, it appears to be a very competitive market. If you manage to find out where all the horny women hang out, do let us know - so I can tell my friend ;)

Its a very hard (if you excuse the pun) sector to crack. We have a number of clients in this industry and they all find it tough to gain a firm grip hold with market share. Alex

I'd disagree with the above comments about finding out where your competitors are advertising. There is no value in simply doing what your competitors are doing. As @fisicx mentioned, you just have to be clever in this market. It's not actually a difficult market to crack, but you need to set up your entire business around a decent marketing idea. Deciding to start a business, working out which products you will sell, and then thinking about marketing is completely the wrong way to do it.

There are loads of opportunities in this sector, but they are only easy to make money from if you look for the marketing opportunities and build the business around them.
