Using Prices From...

Firstly

When selling something in packets do you just list that as a 1 off purchase (£4.99) or do what some of the big stores do.

Buy X from £3.99 (but you have to buy 10 of them)

What works for you?

using the from £... and stating the cheapest item tends to get more people looking I find

From my inner consumer point of view I HATE prices which are in any way mis-leading!! For me, if I see something that looks a good deal in a shop at £3-99, then go over and look at it and it's actually £5-99 because the £3-99 had a tiny little "from" above it, then that really gets on my nerves and I walk away.

My point is that I think it is far better to just tell people what the blooming price is!!! Do to others as you would like done to yourself- honesty is the best policy. Just put a sign up stating "Great prices, or "Cheap bargains" etc etc and people will respect that far more than being let down by products at a higher price than stated.

I agree it really annoys me when I think things will be £3.99 but you have to buy two or three or ten to get that price. Better to show the inital price for one item and offer a discount for bulk purchases - more honest and straightforward.

It seems to me at the moment that people want a discount on anything. Better to put the price at £5.99 and then if they buy 2 they get a discount as they feel they're getting something back.

I genuinely believe if I put all of my prices up £5, but then let everything be discounted by £5 it would generate more sales.
