Hi, bit off topic and may seem silly but I was wondering if I can add anything to my address that makes it appear more professional. I have an office/room at my home dedicated for my business..

E.g. could I add Business Name suite 1 or perhaps unit 1, office 1 above my address and still have it delivered or would this cause problems?

Many people check business addresses on google maps or something similar. If you add a 'business' style name it will look very, very stupid if someone checks and sees a domestic residence. If it bothers you, you could get a service address but, unless it is really likely to affect your business I would not bother. Many professional businesses such as accountants, psychologists, employment law advisers, use their home address.

Thanks for your opinion, do you think it would cause a problem with delivery?

Will it really matter to any customer you want that your business is based at your home address?

May cause a problem with delivery, not so much postie as delivery drivers looking around your property for unit 1.

I added 'Station House' to my home address and it did not seem to affect the postal service.

My post isn't affected but my business name being on invoices causes HGVs to stop at the local school as they are looking for a garden centre. They'll drive right past the house.

Hi, I’m not really sure on this. Depending on what business your conducting and what you want to use a professional appearance on address for but if it helps to your question there are registered address’s that give you that professional appearance to your company, virtual office.

I previously worked for a serviced office company that provided a virtual office service which was very popular to business conducted via homes. I also conduct my business from home and use a virtual office to give a professional registered address.

I hope this helps!

Always be real, or cringy. Your choice. Do not hide it. They will visit and they will cringe. It's like driving a Renault but saying you own a supercar. Just say you have a Renault. Many people love Renault. It's a good car. My last home address was my office. It was Vladislav Varnenchik 142, floor 2. Just this.

And that address would put me off using you for goods or services.

My address is on required sites. Pretty much only time someone visits is when we expect them to - reps, deliveries, debt collection etc. :)
We don't actively encourage customers to visit though have made exceptions on a case by case basis - which has involved them handing over cash (or paying online before coming) and me handing over goods on the doorstep.

I work from home, and my house is now plotted on Google Maps, I note under my business name - I'm a sole trader. My business name at my address works perfectly well for post and deliveries from the usual carriers. I~f you make your business sound very kind of 'industrial' then your council might become nosey and think you're a big business operating from a residential address which could be awkward, permissions wise. Loads of people have home offices and the Councils are pretty OK with that. Don't 'big-up', there's no point.

As long as your full address is there, it shouldn't cause an issue if you put another name above it, for example:

Business Name
Contact Name
Address Line 1
Country
Postcode

Grab a stamp and give it a try ;)

What's wrong with Vladislav Varnenchik 142, floor 2, lol? It's a business building anyways. Some people live there okay, but still...

More important is does your mortgage or landlord allow you to trade from your home, and will your work lifestyle effect the neighbors into complaining to the council
