ACCA continuity provider

I am in the process of applying for my ACCA practising certificate and wish to start up in a very small-scale way, in my spare-time.

I need to find a continuity provider. If anyone reading this thread is willing to enter into an agreement (I'm happy to reciprocate if required) could you PM me?

I know its difficult sometimes but if you can you really are best getting an arrangement with someone you know and someone local to you.

I saw at first hand what it was like when a sole practitioner suffered a heart attack and had to get his alternate to run his practice.

Imagine someone you dont know or who is hundreds of miles away trying to deal with your practice if it was ever necessary.

I'm really pleased to have found a welcoming and helpful group of people!

I have another question, am trying to make sense of the requirements - if I want to have a sole director incorporated firm can I make arrangements for continuity with a sole practitioner? I can't see there is much difference between the two arrangements.

If need be I'd be happy to start off as a sole practitioner, but would rather have a limited company set-up.

Not a problem. I was a member of a cooperative of ACCA members set up in London as a limited company purely to act as continuity provider for its members who were a mixture of sole practitioners and incorporated practices. Hope you manage to find someone
