I am in the process of starting up an Accounting and Tax Service including Business Intelligence practice. To do so I need to enter into a Continuity Partner agreement.

Therefore, I am reaching out to see if there is an Accounting practice that would be willing to enter into a Continuity Partner Agreement, as required by The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, with me.

I am a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and I would be willing to reciprocate or to collaborate with the Continuity Partner.

Regards

As you know CIMA only regulates the individual so you will need a CIMA member in practice to enter into the continuity agreement. Happy to discuss if you want to contact me.

    Hi

    Thank you for your response.

I have been in contact with CIMA regarding this and they have stated this is not the case. I show also an extract from CIMA's member handbook as follows:

"Does my CP have to be a member of CIMA?

In some instances, it may be preferable to have a CP who is a CIMA member because of the nature of the services you offer, but members of other professional accountancy bodies can also be nominated."

I would be very happy to discuss the CP agreement with you at your convenience.

    Regards
    Nick

Why would you choose a non CIMA member continuity partner 😀?
Specifically I believe a CIMA continuity partner must be the individual not the practice. But yes you can choose one of the other professional bodies if you must!

Agreed. I would prefer to arrange a CP with a CIMA member but I am having trouble finding a CIMA member who has a practice licence and would enter into a CP agreement.

I have tried posting on the CIMA groups on Linkedin and also on various business platforms with no success.

My last recourse is to email directly CIMA members in practice using the CIMA members database and to open up to other professional bodies.

I am a CIMA member and hold a Practicing Certificate. I have contacted you separately.
