they have been brought up with zero respect for police or anyone so maybe is time to bring in the army.
So fingers crossed, the contagion of rioting will continue to other parts of the country, and force Westminster to return the freedoms we previously enjoyed.
I don't think it has to resort to shooting people, maybe using rubber bullets to put the really aggresive ones down yes but killing is not needed. The police don't seem to be able to handle this on their own so bringing in the army would be a wise thing to do, even if it is just to back up the police and bring order back to our country.a mate of mine who lives in croydon had this too say
I hear a lot of people saying "send in the army". Surely, if we become a country that sends its troops to shoot their own citizens, then we no longer have the right to be called 'civilised'?
The day that Britain is a state that oppresses its own population by military force, is the day that we might as well let the looters burn the whole f****** lot down. Because that is when Britain will not be worth fighting for any more.

Just heard the ''voice'' of two teenage girls talking to a bbc producer. They were drinking wine they'd looted at 9.30 this morning, and said theyd been drinking all night. They described the riots as great fun. When asked why they did what they did, they said it was the governments fault, those conservatives, or ''whoever it is'' - when asked why they were destroying their own community, they said it was because the shop owners were rich, and we're showing the police and them that we'll do whatever we like, whenever we like.
I was listening intently to see if I could pick out their legitimate grievences. I couldnt. Perhaps when theyre sobered up they'll have a valid legitimate point we all need to listen to![]()
I think we need to bring back national service, take these louts off the street.
... and give them weapons training.
Sounds like a plan.
Steve
"Bring back national service" i would do a runner to Brazil if they did that.
You can't compare Northern Ireland with this! Dealing with terrorism and youth rioters is not te same thing.
Now Now ..... you know the point he was driving at .... maybe 3 to 5 years of a disciplined regime might instill a sense of pride in them, pride in themselves, and some self respect.
I would go to the vatican and pretend to be religious but it's full of paedos![]()

All depends if you can put up with a bit of hurmm - man sausage occasionally.
I expect stockdam is drawing a comparison to the riots in Northern Ireland which at their height happened every july and august without fail across all largely populated areas of N.I. rather than the terrorist bombing campaign, so yes N.Ireland is a great comparison to make.
The police's main objective is to protect the people, the army's main objective is to engage our enemies, so if you use the army to police the people, then the people become the enemy and that rarely ends well.
Or it might fill the army up with lazy, morally corrupt ********s that take so much babysitting that the army can't do its job.
IMO, it's a bad plan.
