Just wanted to get some information, as researching it isnt going far for me and I'm trying to get employment contract sorted.

Ive got a new employee, whom I dont want to give set hours per week, one week maybe 8 hours, another week 10 hours, another 16hours, but nothing set.

Is this do-able? How do I write this in the contract, is there a specific term we can use for this?
Or do i have to write, e.g 7 hours and always give her upto or more hours thats written when required?

Please advice.

Regards

We use zero hours contracts, where the hours arent guaranteed, which sounds like your situation. I'm sure your HR person/consultant can help draft a zero hours contract

As mentioned above a zero hours contract would be the most suitable in this case. If you are unfamiliar with the term then in effect your employee is contracted to work zero hours per week, everything else they get is a bonus.

SJ Beale (a member on here) provides zero hour contracts. I've never seen free versions (as our available for regular contracts), so this may be your best option.
