Magnetic Vehicle Signs

Does anybody use magnetic vehicle signs to advertise their business on their private cars?

I'm looking at this option for car advertising as I'm planning to change my current car in a few months and also because I live outside of the area I will be trading in (Franchise territory).

Any views on how these look, how practical they are and if they are a good marketing tool?

Personally I would stay away from the magnetic ones. But as long as your car always looks clean & smart then go for it.

I too would steer clear of them. I think they look tacky in most cases. If you have a new car and make good use of them, it might work.

a) they look as though the car is nether private / nor corporate - makes it look as though the business doesn't have the funding to brand a vehicle properly - looks amateur
b) people will move the signs around the vehicle!

why not just brand it permanently -then you are always advertising your business...

They look tacky and blow off when you go on moterways.
Kids pinch them.
They leave marks on your paintwork.
Really not worth the money.
Better off getting it properly logoed or at least get it done on the inside of the rear window.
I did it on my van in the early days. Never again.

Agree with others, steer clear, my business partner had them on his wifes car, IMO they looked rediculous, I saked him to remove them, he did.

We used to have our company vehicles this way, then had them sign written, much more proffesional.

I've got a couple on my car at the moment (a recent experiment). No obvious benefit has ensued though.

Because he lives outside his franchise area and would be giving free advertising for the guy running it in his home area.

I differ in view from the others - I had them in the past and they worked well for me. I owned a business running art and craft classes for toddlers and ordered the car magnets from Vistaprint when they were on special offer for a ridiculously low price. As my car was often parked outside of toddler groups, soft play etc when I was ferrying my own children around I found that mums then came up as I was loading/unloading my children from the car (or even came up to me in the supermarket car park) and asked for details of my classes.

Ok, they don't look highly professional but they were very low cost and generated quite a lot of new customers so worked well for me. They never blew off on the motorway and they were never pinched! When I sold my business and removed the magnets they left a mark but that has faded over time and one year on they are no longer visible.

I was considering using vinal signs on any new car I get but worried it will nopt benifit my business and make my car look tacky.

Anyone had very good sales from this advertising or is it better to leave the car blank as a corporate looking vehical?
