Does anyone here have a site that gets lots of visits from yahoo,

I'm making a site and it ranks number one on yahoo for 4 phrases that get searched on google 1 - 2k times a month,

yet I appear according to google analytics get no hits from yahoo,

I thought yahoo held a 25% ish search Market share?

Different demographics. Yahoo does well in French speaking countries and Africa. Bing is doing ok in the USA but G is very dominant in the UK. For some types of searches it get nearly 100% of the market.

Concentrate on G and Yahoo and bing and dogpile and all the others will follow.

How do you know it gets 1-2k searches per month? hope you aren't using the google keyword tool because that's the number of searches that resulted in an adwords click.

Market samurai seems to be getting a lot of good press.

I personally don't bother. Just be natural and sell your services, if the marketing is good then you may only need one visitor per day to make loads of money.

My problem is I'm planning world domination,

it would be good if I could find a few niche search terms that are easy to rank for and get a steady set of calls from,

But life is not that simple is it :-(

I use Market Samurai - I think it cost me about £60 or £70 quid - and find it a useful tool.

I use search volume in a comparative nature - e.g. if I'm told one phrase gets 1,000 searches a month and another 10,000 I work on the later be a more popular search term, rather than believing it gets 10,000 searches (may be more, may be less). I also cross refer the Market Samurai (MS) stats with Google.

MS also has good training and support - even if you don't buy it, you might find a visit to the MS Dojo useful.

Me too! (you must have posted this whilst I writing my first post)

MS is great for niche finding - they've even produced a blue print of criteria for using the MS data to see if a niche is worth attacking, based on amount of traffic, competitors, etc. etc. that works pretty well.

I need to go back to the drawing board the main phrase I'm targeting has free index in pos 1 but a few other sites on page 1 alter every now and again telling me there is some value being there I might buy that software.
If I could find niche searches that bring in some money I would try and give free index a run for it's money,

It's all a learning curve really that causes headaches along the way :)

Niche is easy. Just put up a page with 'house rewiring birmingham' as the page title and then make sure the page offers that service and the first niche is filled. Do the same with 10 other electrician type jobs and you will soon be making a million.

#6 for me. The link takes me to your homepage. What it should do is take me to a house rewiring page with lots of loverly piccies, testimonials, prices and details on how it will affect my Sky HD boradband microwave jacuzzi.

When I type house rewire Birmingham on mylap top and iPhone I'm position 3 4 and a hotfrog listing at 5 , it's this google personalisation crap again, I might have to get a few people to check later.

Dunno if you have registered your site on google webmaster tools but they've recently started listing the search volume and click-throughs for your main keywords.
You might find this useful?
