Here's a test for you promotional types.

Printed promotional doggy poo bags!

I'm not 100% sure if I'm going to go ahead with this, but as an idea to promote my pet service related company I thought of these, probably in packs of 50 printed with my logo and a quick 'clear it up' type phrase.

I did hunt for a producer a little while ago without sucess - can anyone either point me in the right direction or maybe quote me for doing some?

I looked into this about 5 years ago and found a company in the NE who did bio degradable ones, and would overprint them. They were the only people I found who would do it and a minimum run was about 10k bags, and with box print, plates etc the bill would have been around £2.5k.

This was too expensive for me, (25p a bag), and the bag company were a bunch of whatevers, which is why I didn't keep their details.

You could search using 'nappy sacks' as a search term, or 'council provides dog poop bags': lots of councils provide them and if you emailed them you might strike lucky.

If it would fit the bill you might find bag holders easier to source, and might be able to get them in 100 batches, or so. Fairly easy to brand too.

UPDATE: http://www.muttsbutts.com/index.asp (What a great name for a dog poo bag company...)

Thank you Nuno. I found the parent company for 'Mutts Butts' who will do 25,000 bags, printed with our logo etc for £440 (+VAT I presume). However I think they are in bulk boxes of 1000 I would imagine, rather than consumer packs of 50 which I require. Never-the-less I'll be phoning them in the morning.

Thanks for your help though.

Crikey! Hence the expression -where there's muck there's brass!

I can imagine some PR guys looking at this thread, wondering whether this is an effective way of associating your business with $hit!

If Ratner can do it, so can you! :D

I'm only kidding. If it works do it

Hi Dogsbody

As an alternative, what about printing on a poop bag holder instead? This way the promotional item will last longer and increase the chances of being seen to many others to increase awareness of your pet service. Plus its quite a nice accessory that is guarantee to be used over and over again. More for your investment.

This has been a popular choice, let me know if you would like to see some images. Or take a look at our website for examples.

Kind Regards

Karen

While it is a novel angle, I am one of those types who have to wonder about the association.

There is a ton of negative sentiment and reinforcement associated with cleaning up after a pet. This is not good, fun, glorious, happy, or any positive emotion at work.

Negative reinforcement is very powerful - don't discount it. Ever wonder why no one brands the trash bags we all use?

A dog food scoop, a cat water dish, a puppy dog food storage bin - this end of the pet makes sense for branding and association.

Good luck working from the other end :)

If these were given out then IMO they would be great. as a dog owner, we are meticulous about cleaning up. we buy bags all the time. if a pet related company gave me some bags, then I would be VERY likely to use their services, as I see it as a cn action that is not 100% selfish, but is looking at the bigger picture and community overall, and is showing responsible pet ownership.

(I appreciate this is a few months old, but as it was revived I think it is OK to post0
