The director is out of the office today and I need to tell someone about my Adwords Win - a local targeted campaign.

    36 clicks, 19 sales,
[FONT=&quot]52.78% conversion rate = average order price £100

Sorry but really needed to share that and blow my own trumpet! I am so chuffed that is my record best ever conversion rate. What successes have you guys had?

That is fantastic Nina well done. Can you give us any insights into why you think your conversion rate was so good?

Are you the cheapest or best?
    Is your product unique?

Optimised the landing page and product listings.
The product is a futon! Certainly not unique.
We are best on price on the internet I do believe as I've done my research.
On top of that we do Next Working Day delivery for mainland UK.

I think I've just talked my way out of a bacon sandwich, sounds like the product and service sells itself lol....

Nothing wrong with blowing your own trumpet, but be wary of the bacon sarnie.

    Fantastic Nina!

My best is around 12/13% but over alot more clicks. I was hovering around 7/8% until the adwords master (Steve Gibson) did some guides on broad matching and negative keywords.

Lets see how you do over a longer period but that is still excellent!

Overall the futon general campaign was running at 1.8%-2.3% conversion when the agency were running it, this campaign has improved to 6.43% which is encouraging but I hope I can tweak this to improve even better. (Around 8,000 clicks / month)

Funnily enough, keyword research led to a negative keyword of 'critic' as there is a website of TV reviews called the futon critic, I found this quite amusing. Also added 'breakfast' to the beds campaign negative words...

I've never seen a sales conversion rate anywhere near that high for PPC traffic.

Seems very odd that such a high percentage of cold visitors would buy something from a site.

(Odd for any market to have such a high ratio of buyers.)

I know tell me about it Steve, this is a new campaign that I started 3 weeks ago, so only 36 clicks in 3 weeks but has proved an enormous success.

I have 3 derivitives of 3 keywords (broad, phrase, exact) and only 1 advert going to the specific landing page that I optimised when I first joined the company back in May.

I saw on GA that the most of our traffic is coming from one city so I created the campaign with this in mind, even though we are in Somerset.

Somerset adverts don't work too well as people turn up to the warehouse expecting to buy a bed when all of the business is ran via the website. We don't deal direct with the public as we don't physically have a shop. This is why I created a campaign for where the most traffic was coming from.

Just stumbled across this thread, had to read it twice to make sure I had read the right numbers :-) Excellent stuff, if you ever start an Adwords course I'd definitely sign up!
