Hi

I've just had my website changed to a wordpress website so that I can make amendments etc.

I've noticed that some of the words on my website have now got links to other sites which obviously I do not want. I changed the words tonight that were linking but the replacement words already have new links! Is there any way of stopping this or is this the downside of wordpress?

What ? I think you need to give a url wordpress doesn't not make up links. Could it be you mean the LINKS section in admin, if so just go in and delete them from there.

Hi

My website is www.clarkmans-solicitors.co.uk

At the moment the word ' free' is linking through to some survey. The word money was previously linking to some article about how a single mum has made thousands of dollors. There's then a link on the word 'banking'. When you select them it says 'powered by Text-enhance'

There were other words linking previously but they seem to change each time I look. If it is not normal is it a virus or something?

Not in my browser it doesn't, do you have a plugin called "text enhance" ? if so deactivate it.

They have all disappeared on mine as well but they were definately there earlier!

I have looked at the plugins and the only one I'm not sure about is called Widget context. I will have a look at what that is.

Might be something to do with your browser too, so check you've not inadvertently enabled a plugin there too.

I use a similar plugin on my wordpress sites so suspect it might be that.

I saw this on someones pc last week
It was a browser plugin not a Wordpress plugin for them.

Horrible think, are you getting a line of green dota under words?
It appears to highlight words/phrases that you search for.

Thank you so much for your help! I cannot find out how to turn it off but have cleared my history and it seems to have removed it. I am just glad that is not how my website looks to everyone.
