Is there any recommended UK hosting that offers fast speeds for woocommerce and a CDN.

Also does it matter were the server is based if for example I run hosting from the U.S and then employ a CDN to speed the site up ? Will this affect SEO or is this not an issue?

Thanks

Why do you think you need a CDN?

A slow site is more about configuration than the host. You can build a woo site on a shared server and still get a fast site. You just need to know what you are doing.

As to SEO. If you are targeting the UK servers at home are preferable. A CDN can makes things worse.

Do some tests. A CDN isn’t really necessary for most sites. I did a trial using a CDN for content and page speed was slower.

Sometimes the extra DNS lookups etc can negate the benefits.

It also depends on the CDN having a PoP near to you - or nearer than the sites server. For a global audience they more often than not make sense.

If this is an ecommerce site make sure the provider is a PCI compliant Service provider. (Ask to see their AOC if unsure.)
A CDN can be useful if you are serving customers outside of Europe. However, a good hosting provider should be able to deliver images / assets faster to the UK than a generic CDN. If you really want a CDN then a free Cloudflare account meets most peoples needs and gives excellent DNS management.
