hi, need some help on wholesalers as to what they actually do.
Is their main function to sell bulk stock to businesses for the business to break bulk and re-sell the stuff.

my understanding of wholesales is your first description - to buy bulk and sell bulk - but they buy in bigger quantities than they sell on obviously to make a profit - like a cash and carry...they are not like a retailer who sell individual items but they may buy say 2,000 bottles of water and bulk sell packs of 250 for example...
