Hi everyone

Has anyone white labelled there service to other companies to promote and get more business?

I have recently invested heavily on getting a backbone up and running but not getting the take up that I anticipated.

Has anyone done this to expand there business? Has it worked?

I would be really keen on hearing any thoughts!

Thanks :)

We do this on a regular basis, we actually went one step further than just selling the products and started selling E-commerce sites too, people are dubious and hesitant, many feel they are going to have to put more into the pot, than they will actually get out.

I have never tried to do this. Could you explain me what is white labeling ? I am really willing to know about it.

I often write copy for marketing companies on a white label basis. It means they can still offer the entire umbrella of marketing services without hiring a full time copywriter.

White labelling can be a great solution as it allows startups the opportunity to bring out a product whilst controlling the brand and therefore price point and competition.

I have not done this myself but have worked with companies that do offer a white label service and it has been very successful with the right package. Like Kevin mentioned there are also other opportunities for revenue generation, you are ultimately building a community of resellers that are motivated to make money for both yourself and them.

If you do go for it let me know I may be interested for when I restructure one of my sites and service offerings.

Hope this helps

One of my businesses provides a service under the name of a large corporation which does not have the infrastructure to micro manage the tentacles of the delivery channel. We made the initial approach to the company and suggested the sales channel. It was their desire to white label whereas we had originally planned to trade under our own identity.

we've just done a full redevelopment of our web based back-office system to enable white-label services - it works for us - nice % of the revenues comes our way while the other companies can offer services they wouldn't be able to on their own...

white labelling for services is not the right expression. It is called outsourcing. white label is more for goods that require a brand.
For those who don't know: many companies just stick a brand label on the product made by another company...think Tesco home brand beans. probably made by a big bean company to Tesco's specification.
